Paul worked for several years in the early 2000s as part of a therapeutic team at Age Concern, Camden, London.

This work with those aged over 55 years provided us with a unique insight into the viccissitudes of ageing, in particulat those issues that originate in psycho-somatic changes that often surprise us and are challenging to contain and address.

Psychamerica recognizes the accumulation of burdens older adults come to bear, and aims to address the unique emotional, relational, and physical changes that arise with aging.

Later life can bring challenges that feel overwhelming and increasing experiences of loss. Working through the vicissitudes of later life affords a relief from the shadow of loss, and thus opportunities to cultivate resilience and a more satisfying enjoyment of the sunset that is the ultimateb destiny of us all.
