De-Tours

Psychamerica encompasses a wide range of in-depth specializations informed by an impressive breadth of professional experience as well as extensive experience of training and teaching in these fields.

We work with young people, adults, and older adults hailing from diverse walks of life and identifying with a wide variety of identities and personas, recognizing that each face distinct issues that are presented in markedly different ways at differing stages of life and in differing contexts.

For those struggling with addiction, for example, we aim to uncover the underlying dynamics of use - that which lies behind the push to use - an articulation that secures a deeper and more lasting freedom than that produced by standard(ized) abstinence programs.

We work with couples to go beyond the cliches of 'better communication' and 'cove languages' uncover and articulate the accrued resentments that lie behind everyday conflict and a common withering of desire and affection, allowing an acknowledgement of difference and addressing the threats that are so often misleadingly attributed to such. As a result, a mutual love not previously been imagined may be realized.

For those struggling with issues around body image and eating, we bring a wealth of experience gleaned from years of teaching and supervising a team of therapists at a leading eating disorders clinic based in London. As with the question of addiction, Psychamerica works to articulate that which lies behind body dysmorphia, bulimia and anorexia in order to transform embodied experiences.

We engage with clients diversely identifying as queer to articulate a unique and meaningful sense of identity and trajectory of desire, with the aim of rendering such identities incidental to the pursuit of enjoyment and fulfillment.

And we bring unique insight to those in the creative and performing arts who face both professional and personal pressures that revolve around a craft seen as central to a sense of identity and purpose.

Every specialization is informed by a mission rooted in creativity, distinction and integrity, underpinned by a unique depth of knowledge, understanding and breadth of experience.
